High School Requirements

To be admitted as a freshman, a student must complete a minimum of 16 high school units (year-long classes) in the following areas:

Preparatory Core

English	4 Units
Social Studies	3 Units
Natural Sciences	3 Units (Two courses must be chosen from biology, chemistry, and physics laboratory courses. Two years of principles of technology will meet one unit of natural sciences [physics]. Two years of applied biology/chemistry will meet one unit of natural sciences [biology].)
Mathematics	4 Units (Must be chosen from algebra I, geometry, algebra II, trigonometry, pre-calculus, and calculus. Two years of applied mathematics, will meet one of high school algebra I.)
Electives	2 Units (To be chosen from English, foreign languages, oral communication, mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, and social studies.)
Total	16 Units
