If your question does not appear in this list, please e-mail us at ap@uark.edu
Am I eligible for state funding?
Distribution of Arkansas funds to public school teachers will be based on a priority status system that the state updates each year. The ADE priority system is as follows:
- Priority 1: Currently-employed Arkansas AP teachers never having attended an APSI
- Priority 2: Currently-employed Arkansas AP teachers teaching in a high poverty school (70% or more schools receive free/reduced lunch) and/or a school that submits data to support a gap in minority students' access or outcomes in AP courses
- Priority 3: Currently-employed Arkansas AP teachers teaching in a district that is involved in Arkansas AIMS
- Priority 4: Currently-employed Arkansas AP teachers having attended an APSI more than 5 years ago (during or prior to the summer of 2019)
- Priority 5: Currently-employed Arkansas Pre-AP teachers never having attended an APSI Note: APSI training may not be substituted for the College Board Pre-AP Program required initial training for pre-AP teachers
- Priority 6: Currently-employed Arkansas Pre-AP teachers having attended an APSI more than 5 years ago (during or prior to the summer of 2019) Note: APSI training may not be substituted for the College Board Pre-AP Program required initial training for pre-AP teachers
- Priority 7: Educators who wish to become "AP Ready." These may be a) currently employed educators who are not teaching AP who would like to receive the training to be ready to teach AP should the opportunity arise; OR b) pre-service teachers who are entering their final year of an educator preparation program or who are completing their final year, but have not yet been employed by a district. For educators in this category, AP training should correlate with their intended licensure area(s).
The priority deadline for funding is March 1. After that date, we will begin to allocate state funding to registered teachers using the system described above.
