Taylen Day

As an aspiring medical doctor within the Native American population, Taylen Day was recognized as a 2022 Udall Scholar. A psychology major, she has actively engaged in the Native American Student Association, assisted in research in the DREAM lab, and worked as the president of the Volunteer Action Center. She plans to work as an OBGYN with Native American women, as well as raise awareness about the medical and mental health issues that Native American women have historically faced.

Mary Jia

A junior honors biomedical engineering major, Mary Jia received a 2022 Goldwater Scholarship, naming her one of the top STEM undergraduates committed to a career in research in the nation. Jia is a Bodenhamer Fellow and Arkansas Governor's Distinguished Scholar. Under the guidance of Christopher Nelson, assistant professor of biomedical engineering, her research focuses on developing a prime editing solution for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, and she is listed as first author in an article submitted to the Journal of Magnesium and Alloys.

Coleman Warren

Coleman Warren, an honors industrial engineering and political science senior, was named 1 of 32 Rhodes Scholars in the United States for 2022. A 2021 Truman Scholar, he is committed to a career alleviating childhood hunger in his home state of Arkansas. During his undergraduate studies, he founded a boutique ice cream shop named Simple + Sweet, and its profits benefit local charities that provide meals for hungry children. As a Rhodes Scholar, he will pursue an MPhil in Comparative Social Policy.
