Decision Appeals
Petition to the Admissions & Appellate Board
If you are a domestic undergraduate applicant to the University of Arkansas and would
like to appeal your admissions decision, please follow the steps below. You will need
to log in using the same Student Center credentials you used when you applied.
Steps to Complete Your Appeal
- Access and submit the Admissions Appeal Form through your Student Center.
- Upload an appeal essay responding to the following prompt:
“Please tell us more about the personal or situational factors that significantly impacted your academic performance. Be sure to address when the impact occurred, what steps you have taken to overcome the hardship, and why this appeal is important to you and your plan for academic success at the University of Arkansas.” - Upload one letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, or employer who can speak to your academic potential, work ethic, or growth
Evidence of Academic Improvement
The committee seeks clear indicators that academic performance has improved or that the student has taken meaningful steps toward readiness for college-level work.
Examples include:
- Updated transcripts showing upward trends in academic performance
- Recent test scores (ACT, SAT, or Accuplacer) that demonstrate academic preparation
- Successful completion of additional coursework
- Any other evidence showing you have taken concrete steps to strengthen your academic readiness
